My husband and I and friends will be on the May 24th sailing of the Pride of America and I am hoping you will be on the ship at that time. I have enjoyed reading your blogs. We are in the process of deciding on shore excursions and which specialty restaurants to go to on specific nights. Any insight you can give me would be appreciated.

Hi James,
First, I want to say that I really like the idea of telling your story of the life inside a cruise ship. I say that because I was searching for information about what it like.
Well the reason is simple, I was recently accepted to work inside a crew ship. So it will be my first time. And I’m really excited and I can wait to start. But since I found your web site, I want to as you some question because it’s your third time and I really want to be ready for this.
I want to know how can I prepare myself. What sort of tips can you tell me of your experience from your first contract that would help me now ? I read a lot of in your blog and I can tell you that it really help my a lot. But maybe their some things that you can tell me.
Also how about the banking. Is it better to do it wireless banking ?
How about wireless internet, because like you, I will bring my laptop around. Is it preferable to wait and connect it on shore or with the internet cafe.
And last, how was your day before and the first day of work. I really thing your answers will help me prepare myself for the unknown. Thanks a lot.

I’m enjoying reading about your experiences on the Jade. I’m booked to sail on the Jade from Istanbul to Barcelona on November 6, and everthing I’ve read about the Jade and Freestyle 2.0 makes me very excited about the upcoming cruise.
One thing I’d like to ask you about is the internet service on the ship. I’ll be taking my laptop, so will I be able to use it in my cabin (I have a balcony, by the way, which you seem to enjoy). How expensive is it, and do they have a 24/7 plan? I cruised on RCL’s Brilliance of the Seas last year and it had an “always on” plan from the cabin.

My mom has been a big fan of your blog since booking a cruise on your ship. She said she was even able to meet up with you while on the boat.
I am trying to get a job on a cruise ship. I am 25 and would just like an exciting change in my life. Do you have any advice or help regarding this? I would really appreciate it!
